She lived in Annandale for 44 years; attended college in Colorado, and later moved to Washington, D.C., where she went to work for the Federal Government at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA, during World War II. She was a volunteer at the Inova Fairfax Hospital, and member of the PTA.
Survivors include her husband, Warren David Deem, U.S. Navy (Ret.), whom she married in June 1944; daughters, Carol A. Nugent of Virginia and Joyce A. Jacobsmeyer of Colorado; brother, George L. Duvall, Jr., also of Colorado; seven grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharron L. Auman, on March 15, 2004.
