China Eula Black, 86, of Corsicana passed away Sunday, March 19, 2006, at Navarro Regional Hospital. She was born April 8, 1919, in Eureka to J.E. and China Dubose. She attended Mildred schools until her senior year then moved to East Texas and attended Gaston High School. She married James Robert Black on Christmas Day in 1936 and was married 69 years until her death. They had lived in Corsicana since 1940. She worked at McLellan's Five and Dime store, J.C. Penney's and Bealls. She was a homemaker and a very devoted wife and mother. She was a member of First Baptist Church for many long years and was a member of the Solid Rockers Choir. She and James R. both volunteered at the Family Life Center.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home.

Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Corley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. B.F. Risinger Jr. and Brother Bill Honea officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Billy Don Watkins, Terry Watkins, Lance Watkins, Mark Hansen, Mark Powell and Alan Powell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.E. and China Dubose; brothers, Otto Dubose, J.C. Dubose and Buddy Dubose; and sisters, Corrine McDonald and Julia Mae Easterling.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, James R. Black of Corsicana; daughter and son-in-law, China Black and Freddy L. Drew of Katy; and many other relatives.
