Mrs. E. Blair Dies In Hospital
Mrs. Bertha Blair, 64, of 273 Aubrey street, widow of Edward Blair, former inspector with the Winnipeg
police force, died Thursday evening at the Winnipeg General hospital.
Born in Union Point, Man., the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Dryden, pioneer settlers of that
district, Mrs. Blair had resided in Winnipeg for the past 40 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian
church and later of the United church of Canada. Her husband died in 1912.
Mrs Blair is survived by one daughter. Mrs. J. Y. Harcourt of Ottawa; two sons. Andrew D. of Winnipeg
and Dr. H. A. Blair of Rochester. N.Y. one sister, Mrs. Hill Rodgers ofWinnipeg and two brothers,
William Dryden of Domain, Man., and Hon. J. C. Dryden, minister of education, Manitoba government.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 10.30 a.m. at the A. B. Gardiner funeral home, with burial in
the family plot. Elmwood cemetcry. Rev. John C. Mathieson will officiate
