Mrs. Lettie Marie Alderman, age 78, a lifetime Polk County resident passed away Sun., June 19, 2011 at her residence due to heart failure.
Mrs. Alderman was born Jan. 22, 1933, in Polk Co., to William Henry and Monette (Hand) Driggers. She was a homemaker, enjoyed traveling and loved being a mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Oscar R. Alderman; and son Jimmy Alderman.
Mr & Mrs. Alderman were married 58 years,marrying in Hardee Co. in 1948. They are survived by: 3 sons: William (Charlene) Alderman of Auburndale, Oscar Alderman of Wahneta, Kenneth Alderman of Bartow; 2 daughters: Patricia Goff & Marie Armstrong, both of Bartow; 14 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
Lettie is survived by her 3 brothers: Herbert Driggers, Morris Driggers, both of Lakeland, Malcolm Driggers of Auburndale; 2 sisters: Joyce Chumbley of Lakeland & Shirley West of Auburndale.
A combined graveside inurnment service will be held 9:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2011 at the Auburndale Memorial Park, 1889 W. Derby Ave., Auburndale.
