Funeral services for John "J.L." Dreyer, 61, of Sellersburg, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 6, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, with burial in Silver Creek Cemetery. He died Monday, April 2, 2012, at his home.

He served in the Army Reserves, was a self-employed truck driver, and a volunteer at Sellersburg Fire Department. He worked for L&N Railroad Company, Sellersburg Police Department, served as an Indiana State Trooper, farmed, and was a heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include his mother, Margaret Prather Dreyer, of Sellersburg; sons, JR Dreyer, of Henryville, Jonah Dreyer, of Borden, and Tom Hill and his wife, Angie, of Memphis; three brothers, David A. Dreyer Sr. and his wife, Beverly, of Nabb, Richard E. Dreyer and his wife, Donna, of Memphis, and Dennis D. Dreyer, of Sellersburg; sisters, Patricia A. Dreyer, and Margo Y. Dreyer, both of Sellersburg; and grandchildren, Austin, Jordan, Adison and Riley.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Edwin Dreyer and stepson, Chris Greenwood.
