Jean Cobble Drennen, age 84, of Knoxville passed away Friday evening, July 31, 2009.
Jean was a retired Public Relations Executive. She was Program Director for Medic Regional Blood Center. Jean was the author of the book "Speaking English, A Sound Approach". She was an instructor for Dialect Studies with Knox County Schools from 1961 to 1966. She contributed several articles for the United Way Professional Journal. Jean was recipient of the first place award for TV and newspaper ads from the Greater Knoxville Ad Club. Her avocation was travel, writing and painting.
Her husband, Gaston Cliff Drennen and daughter, Cheryl Jen Drennen, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Megan Dunn and husband, Jason of Knoxville; sisters, Judy Sylvester and husband, Warren of Knoxville and Dorothy Cobble of Cleveland; niece, Katie; nephew, Ben.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Medic Regional Blood Center, 1601 Ailor Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37921-6760. Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel, 11915 Kingston Pike is serving the Drennen family.
