Verlin L. "Vernie" Dreiling, 73, Vincent, died Saturday, July 2, 2011, at his home. He was born July 2, 1938, in Victoria to Otto F. and Albina (Kuhn) Dreiling.

He married Patricia "Patty" Gross on Sept. 12, 1959, in Munjor.

He was a bricklayer and co-owner of Dreiling Masonry for 17 years, retiring in 1999. He moved to the farm in Vincent in 1975. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Vincent.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; four sons, Randy Dreiling and wife, Stefani, Frank L. Dreiling and wife, Brenda, Tony Dreiling and wife, Angie, Mike Dreiling and wife, Traci; three daughters, Sandy Goetz and husband, Jeff, Sadie Wideman and husband, Mark, and Terri Maring and husband, Bryan; two brothers, Norman Dreiling and wife, JoAnn, and Kenneth Dreiling and wife, Patty, three sisters, Clarita Schumacher and husband, Arlyn, Nita Braun, and Ruth Weigel and husband, Cecil, 16 grandchildren, Blake Dreiling, Ashley Dreiling, Grant Dreiling, Nate Dreiling, Natasha Hammerschmidt and husband Cory, Preston Dreiling and wife, Tianna, Tyson Dreiling and wife, Molly, Lawson Wideman, Jacey Wideman, Karson Wideman, Jacob Dreiling, Taylor Dreiling, Darian Graham, Alyson Dreiling, Madison Maring and Kassidy Maring; and four great-grandchildren, Peyton Englert, Macy Hammerschmidt, Mia Hammerschmidt and Preslyn Dreiling.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson, Stephan Lee Dreiling.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria; burial in St. Boniface Cemetery, Vincent.
