Mildred Krause, age 83, passed away Monday Dec. 20, 2010. She was born Nov. 23, 1927 in Zorn, Texas, to Walter and Frieda (Voss) Dreibrodt. She married Kermit Krause June 21, 1949 at Friedens Church. Mildred and Kermit owned and operated Krause's Café until they sold the business in 1998. She was a member of Hermann Sons and an Oma in the Wurstfest Association.

Survivors include four children, Karen Sue Brehmer and husband Lorin, Kay Lynn Gass and husband Doug, Karla Jean Blevins and husband Doug, all of New Braunfels, and Kraig Kermit Krause and wife Jerisa of Dripping Springs, Texas; four grandchildren, Vanessa Gass, Nataly Harris, Kaitlin Krause, and Koby Krause; one great granddaughter, Nevaeh Harris; one sister, Lillian Lenz, and one brother, Freddie Dreibrodt and wife Agnes, all of Zorn.

Visitation will begin at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. and continue on Thursday 8 a.m. until noon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the First Protestant Church at 2 p.m. Thursday December 23, 2010. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
