Mrs. Barbara Jean Drawdy Bodenhamer, 78, died suddenly Monday (May 11, 2015) at her residence.
She was a native of Tifton, but she lived most of her life in Waycross. A former allstate high school basketball player, she was formerly employed as a life insurance sales representative. She and her late husband owned and operated Southeastern Benefits and were members of First Baptist Church Waycross.
Mrs. Bodenhamer is preceded in death by her birth mother who died when she was 6 weeks old, Lonie Vada Mixon; her father and step-mother, Clyde and Monette Drawdy; her husband, Robert Edgar Bodenhamer, Sr.; and one brother, Jimmy Drawdy. Survivors include one daughter, of Hahira; two sons, of Augusta, and Blackshear; nine grandsons, three great grandchildren, one brother, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday (May 14, 2015) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held 5 p.m. Thursday at Oakridge Cemetery in Tifton.
