Age 67. Passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at home with her family at her side. Born October 1, 1938 in Davenport, IA to the late George A. and Bernice E. (nee Kruse) Malik. She was raised and educated in the Joliet area. Graduate of St. Patrick Grade School and St. Francis Academy. Formerly employed by Illinois Bell Telephone and part-time with the Joliet Herald News. The majority of her life was dedicated to the care of her husband, children and grandchildren. Former member of St. Patrick Bowling League, serving as secretary. She was a 35-year member of the "Euchre Club" where she enjoyed the loving friendships made throughout the years.
Her incredible love of life will be carried on by those she left behind, her husband, John A. Drancik of Shorewood; her three children, Jodi (Robert) Manthei of St. Charles, IL, J. Michael (Karen) Drancik of Naperville and Wendy (Duane) Kotsen of Mountain Lakes, NJ; grandchildren, Kyle, Kelsey, Alec and Morgan Manthei; Timothy and Nicholas Drancik; Zander, Tori, Janna and Caz Kotsen; two sisters, Joyce (Robert) Sherwood of Western Springs and Cyndi (Ted) Anno of Marseilles; brother-in-law, Robert (Michelle) Drancik of Joliet; loving aunt of several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Janice J. Drancik will be Friday, August 25, 2006 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rockdale for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the H Foundation for Cancer Research, 60 South LaGrange Rd., LaGrange, IL 60525 would be appreciated.
