Eliza Frances Downs Bellew, 73, Henderson, passed away at 2 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at Redbanks nursing home here.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Bellew, who died in 1996.

She was the former manager of the Dairy Burger in Henderson and was a member of the Salvation Army. She was known as the Cookie Lady because she made cookies for the U of E football team, high schools, little league baseball, and many other people and organizations.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Jerry Bellew; two sons, Carl Bellew of Grandview, Mo., and David Bellew of Henderson; two daughters, Elaine Glover of Indianapolis and Robin Edwards of Auburn, Ky.; three brothers, Miles Downs of Henderson, Charlie Downs of Slaughters and Jeffrey Downs of Henderson; a sister, Geraldine Jenkins of Evansville; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
