Illness Fatal To Mrs. Bean
Death came Sunday morning to Mrs. Walter Bean, well-known resident of Fairfield. She passed away about 1 a.m. at her home, 605 S. Second street, after being in failing health the past year and in serious condition the past two months.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian church with Dr. Crutis R. Douglass officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Minnie G. Downs was born Sept. 18, 1890, in Fairifeld, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Crawford Downs. She was reared and educated in Fairfield, and married Walter G. Bean on Oct. 16, 1907. The wedding took place near Fairfield. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Bean is survived by one daughter, Dora of Highland Park, Ill.; one son, Robert, Battle Creek, Iowa; six grandchildren and two brothers, Charles and Harry Downs, Regina, Canada.
Mrs. Bean was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Harry who passed away while in service on May 12, 1943; two sisters and a brother.
