Edna, daughter of the late James J. and Gertrude (Fitzpatrick) Downey, was born in Springfield on June 3, 1919. Raised in Springfield, she graduated from Cathedral High School. She resided in Wilbraham for the past 58 years, was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church, and was a member of the former Wesson Women's Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, Edna was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Walter D. Cleland, her stepmother, Florence (Fitzpatrick) Downey, and two sisters, Gertrude Cotter and Claire O'Brien.
Rites of Committal and Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield.
