Juanita Dowdy Brien, 81, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012, in Killeen. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Killeen City Cemetery with Rev. Jack W. Husung, Sr. officiating.
Juanita was born in Marshall, North Carolina, to the late Nellie May Crow Dowdy and James Hubbard Dowdy. She graduated from Tennessee Tech University with a degree in elementary education. In June of 1953, she married Lt. John Brien in Columbia, TN, and lived in many different locations such as Germany, NJ, TN, AZ, TX, and VA as a military wife. After settling in Killeen she was a very active member of the Killeen Riding and Roping Club serving in many different positions.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John.
She is survived by her son, John Brien, Jr. and his wife, Becky; daughters, Cindy Reinhardt and husband, Mike, and Cathie Sikorski and husband, Dennis; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Sue Anna Eli and Charlie Ann Dugger.
