KEIR - BEATRICE A. DOWD
Beatrice A. Dowd, 84, of Athens, died Thursday, November 15, 1990 at Troy Community Hospital following a short illness. Born September 23, 1906 in Sheshequin Township, she was the daughter of George and Libby Morley Keir. She was a lifelong resident of the Athens area and was formerly a housemother at the RobertPacker Hospital School of Nursing from 1956-74. She is survived by daughters, Joyce and Kathleen, both at home; son, Donald Dowd, at home; two grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Bessie Ward of Gillett, Mrs. Mary Harris of Sheshequin and Mrs. Esther Stuart of Teachey, NC; brothers, George Keir of Sheshequin, Delbert Keir of Souderston, PA, Walter Keir of Teachey and Ted Keir of Athens; several nieces, nephews, cousins and one aunt. Funeral and committal services were held November 18 at the Athens Methodist Church with the Rev. Howard Hockenbury officiating and burial to be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens.
