Birth: Dec. 5, 1848
Death: Jun. 27, 1917

Transcribed from copy of obituary sent to me by Doris McLaughlin:
Mrs. S. E. Casey Dead
After a long-continued illness, three months of which time she had been confined to her bed, Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Casey died Wednesday morning at about eight o'clock at her home in Rogers. The body was laid to rest yesterday morning at the Cyclone cemetery, in presence of a large asesmblage (sic) of sorrowing relatives and friends, the funeral service being conducted by Rev. J. M. Jones of Rogers. The deceased is survived by nine children - five sons and four daughters, as follows: R. P. Casey, Johnson county; W. L. and J. W. Casey, Meeks; Mrs. W. H. Thompson, Corpus Christi; Mrs. R. S. Jacks, Kaufman county; Misses Tina and Pearl and J. T. Casey, Rogers; and A.C. Casey, Ft. Worth. Mrs. Casey was sixty-eight years of age and came to Bell county, settling near Meeks, some 45 years ago and had been a widow for the past eleven years. Professing faith in Christ while yet in her childhood, the departed united with the Missionary Baptist church. She was a devoted member of that body until death, and we trust that she is now rejoicing with the redeemed in the celestial city. The News joins the relatives and friends in sincere sympathy with the bereaved sons and daughters in the loss of their dearest friend on earth.

Sarah Elizabeth Douthet was an orphan. I have been unable to find any trace of who her parents were. She married Edward Casey on June 22, 1877 in Texas. They had nine children.
