Connie A. Douthit, 97, of Bellmead, Texas, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 21, at a Waco hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, at Concord Baptist Church, with the Rev. Lester Adams officiating. Burial at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, at Bellmead Funeral Home.
Connie was born in Palestine, Texas, to the late Edwin and Laura Mae (Lively) Douthit. He married Lola Pearl Vinson on Oct. 1, 1932. Connie was an independent truck driver until he was 84 years old, and enjoyed hauling dirt and gravel for his friends. Mr. Douthit also enjoyed many years of family trips to Colorado, and quail hunting with loved ones. He was a longtime member of Concord Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by two sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Lola Douthit, of Bellmead; daughter, Katherin Westbrook and husband, Charles, of Axtell; son, Lonnie Douthit and wife, Linda, of China Spring; granddaughters he and Lola raised, Lea Lisa Black and Karen Kim Girard; grandchildren, Ricky Westbrook, Randy Westbrook, Laurie McGaugh and Debbie Williams; 14 great grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
