Isabelle was born in Illinois to Randolph H. and Mary Elizabeth Douthit Box Davis. Her parents are buried in Starr Cemetery. She shares a stone with her husband, E. V. Douthit, who she married 27 November 1858 in Anderson Co, TX. Their son, Albert G. Douthit, and daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" Douthit Parks, are also buried in Garden of Memories.
Epitaph on their stone: "Sixty seven years ago we stood hand in hand at the matrimonial altar, with hearts full of love and hope. Today we lie arm in arm on our journey to that world of rest and Eternal peace from which we will never return. Bidding farewell to our loved ones and the dear friends we leave behind. God be with you all."

DOUTHIT.—Elkhart, Anderson Co., Texas, July 10.—Mrs. E. V. Douthit, 84 years old, died here. She had been a resident of this county for seventy-five or more. A son, A. G. Douthit of this place; two brothers, Tom and Joe Davis of Palestine, and a sister, Mrs. Nancy Marks of Oklahoma, survive her.
