Died, Friday, Sept. 8, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. J. N. Carter, in Quincy, Mrs. Ann D. Barrell, wife of Captain George Barrell, formerly a resident of this city and well known in the state. Mrs. Barrell was born on the island of Bermuda, but left her native country very early in life, coming to this country. She had lived in this state about forty years, most of the time in this city.
She leaves, besides her husband, three daughters, Mrs. J. N. Carter of Quincy, Mrs. Clinton L. Conkling of this city, Mrs. John G. Jennings of Mt. Vernon, O., and two sons, Frank Barrell of Seattle, Wash., and Charles E. Barrell of Denison, Tex. Mrs. Barrell was in her 73rd year.
The remains will be brought to this city and the funeral will occur this afternoon from the residence of Hon. Clinton L. Conkling, 802 South Second street. Friends of the family are invited.
