Mrs. Douglas and her husband slept in adjoining rooms. When he rapped, he got no response, and on investigation, he found his wife dead. Her body was not quite cold. In her arms she clutched her 6 month old baby.
Mrs. Douglas is survived by her husband and her parents, Mr and Mrs J. A. Head, and three children, May, aged 5 years, Willie Evelyn, aged 3 years, 5 months and and Minnie Lee, aged 6 months and by two brothers, Frank, of Decatur and Marion, of Chattanooga, and three sisters, Mrs. C. Raden, of Decatur; Mrs. Minnie Miller, of Chattanooga, and Mrs. Terry Barton, of Chattanooga.

6/4/1909 - Atlanta Constitution - The funeral of Mrs. Lula Douglas, which was to have been held at the residence, 185 Love street, yesterday, was postponed on account of the bad weather, and will take place this afternoon at 4 o'clock at the private chapel of Harry Poole. Interment in Hollywood.
