Hettie J. Bennett

Hettie J. Bennett, 92, of Elizabeth passed away Saturday evening, Oct. 8, 2005, after a brief illness.

She was born in Ritchie County, the daughter of the late Cyrus B. and Gracie Ellen Dotson. She was retired after 45 years of service from FMC/American Viscose of Parkersburg. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1212, Eagles Aerie 2307 and a past member of the Worthington Women's Golf Association.

Surviving are children, Juanita Lemon, Mary Alice and Dick Frankel, Jo Ann Bennett and James M. Bennett, all of Elizabeth; eight grandchildren, Ernie Lemon of Deltona, Fla., Richard A. Frankel of Atlanta, William E. Frankel of Denver, Debbie Hennen of Elizabeth, Rebecca K. Long of Baltimore, Barbara A. Greenberg of Belpre and James Warren and David Milton Bennett of Elizabeth; and 10 great-grandchildren, Ernie Lemon, Brandon Lemon, Douglas and Sarah Hennen, Noah Frankel, Heather Rose Bennett, James Dean Greenberg, Zelda Louise Bennett, Andrew J. Starcher and Jason Long.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest M. Bennett on Aug. 23, 1962; two brothers, Woodrow and Paul Dotson; and two sisters, Pauline Pluzdrak and Hattie Combs.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Matheny Pomroy Funeral Home of Elizabeth with the Rev. Mark Lowe officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery of Parkersburg. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
