Dalton Dotson, 65, of Savonburg, Kansas, and a former resident of Huntsville, died Friday, April 10, in Savonburg. He was born April 5, 1905, in Madison County, the son of Tom Berry and Dora Bolinger Dotson.
He served as Madison County Sheriff in 1931-1932; was County Republican chairman; a delegate to the national GOP Conventions; and a one-time candidate for the U. S. House of Representatives, when he was defeated by Jim Trimble.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Lora Maggard Dotson of the home; three sons, X Dotson of Hindsville; Tem and Tom Dotson, both of the home; three brothers, Offie Dotson of Ontario, Calif., Phil Dotson of Ogden, Utah, and Lassiter Dotson of Ontario, Calif.; and one grandchild, Whitney Dotson, of Hindsville.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Huntsville Church of Christ, with Rev. Doyle Alderson officiating. Burial was in the Whorton Creek Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Bill Williams, Gene Shipley, Earl Davis, Jim Hargis, D. L. Thompson and Hill Everett.
