MILBRIDGE - Lewis "Bump" Dorr, 63, passed away unexpectedly March 31, 2014. Lewis was born April 16, 1950, in Ellsworth, the son of Lewis and Lorena (Robinson) Dorr.

Lewis was a lobster fisherman for 50 years. For many years he and Cheryl lived their life on Fosters Island. He especially enjoyed sharing his love of the island with his grandson, Jared, riding in the skiff, hunting, and walking around the island. He had the best times of his life with his sons and their families. In his later years he enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. He was known for ranting and raving, his voice could be heard from afar. He is now at peace with his first grandson, Jared.

Lewis is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cheryl (Chipman) Dorr; his sons and their wives, Lewis and Mickey, Chris and Holly, and Sheldon and Heather; grandchildren, Justin, Adrianne, Kirsti, Harmon, Jacob, Ten, and Blake; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Cailin and Ryker; brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Lynda; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert and Brenda, Phil and Jill, Debby and Gary, Mark and Staci; many nieces and nephews. Special friends, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Les and Diane Curtis, Robert and Tracy, Jon and Betsy, Bobby and Bonnie, Lightnin, Charles, Alan and Tyler.

Service will begin at Jordan Pier. Anyone is welcome to join family and friends on a boat ride to Foster Island located in Washington County, ME,after for a continuing service and scattering of ashes. Arrangements provided by Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Milbridge. (Bangor Daily News 4/3/2014)
