"Eleanor Holt, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 19, 1994 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Nov. 18, 1921 in Akron, the daughter of Elbert and Amy Dorman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, in 1972, and son, George, in 1968.
God saw that you were getting tired, and a cure was not to be; So He put His arms around you and whispered, 'Come home with me.' With tearful eyes we watched you suffer, and saw you fade away; Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, A determined spirit was at rest; God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
Our beloved mother is survived by son and daughter-in-law... daughter... daughters and sons-in-law... sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jane and James Morehead of Akron; 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; dear friends, Geneva Smith and Julia Brennan. Funeral service Thursday, 11 a.m., at the Dunn-Quigley-Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 811 Grant St., with Rev. Paul Markland officiating. Interment at East Liberty Cemetery. Calling hours TODAY, 3 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse Hospice, 1200 McArthur Dr., Akron 44320."
