A Good Mother and Friend Has Laid Down Life's Burdens
Mrs. Sylvia Doolittle, whose condition has been watched so anxiously by so many friends, passed away a few minutes before noon on Monday. She has been unconscious for some time and it was known that the end was near. Her son, Harry, and her daughters, Mrs. Myra Fitch and Mrs. Alice Church, had been with her for some time. Hers has been a good and useful life and she leaves a record of duties well done and will be remembered with affection and kindness by all that have known her. Her husband, Edward Doolittle, preceded her seven years ago, and one daughter, Mrs Hartzell, died four years ago.
The funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the Methodist church, and a more extended review of her life and noble Christian character will be given next week.

In Memoriam
Sylvia Doolittle, was born Feb. 25, 1856, in Belevidere, Ill. Died Feb. 7, 1927. She grew to womanhood in the vicinity of Belvidere, was married to Edward Doolittle, Feb. 25, 1874. Came to town and settled on the old home place northwest of Carson in 1880, which was their home until coming to town. To the union were born four children: Harry M., Myra Catharine, Alice Cynthia, Edith Cornelia. Her husband died Dec. 14, 1919 and one daughter, Edith, Dec. 15, 1922. She leaves to mourn her loss one son, two daughters, four sisters, thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild, besides a host of friends.
She was a member of the Methodist church and always faithful to its interests. One thing that comes to my attention is that she and Mrs. Sloan have been members of the same Sabbath school class for 40 years and one or the other has been teacher of the class for most of the time.
She died in the faith, we say:
"Servant of God, well done,
Thy glorious warfare past,
The battles fought, the victory won,
And thou art crowned at last.
