Vivian (Donnell) Amos Russell, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away at 6:55 pm Friday December 18, 2009 at Koester Pavilion. She was born June 11, 1918 in Clinton County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Claud and Josephine (Kincaid) Donnell.
After graduating from Scircleville High School in 1936, she graduated from business college and comptometer school in Indianapolis before working at Public Service Company of Indiana. After her marriage to Thomas Amos, she worked at Stokeley-Van Camp Company. Following Thomas' death during World War II, Mrs. Russell married Charles Edwin Russell. He preceded her in death in 1991.
Mrs. Russell worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Milk Marketing Division until her retirement in 1983. She volunteered at the Little Red Door of Indianapolis, was a Girl Scout leader, a member of King's Daughters, and held offices in the Millersville Chapter of the Order of the Eastern star. She belonged to Tabernacle Presbyterian Church for more than sixty years and was involved in its Young Settlers Class, TAB Recreation Department, youth fellowship and counted collection money monthly. She volunteered at the election board in Indianapolis, counting ballots. She had been a member of the Garbry Ridge Red Hatters in Piqua.
Mrs. Russell is survived by her sister Mrs. John McVeigh (Miriam) formerly of Daly City, California, currently of Piqua; her daughter Patricia Johnson (Ronald) of Piqua, her son Dennis Donnell Russell of Tacoma Washington, and her granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Russell Johnson of New York, New York.
