Mrs. Marilyn J. Donlon, 82, of 205 North Shore Road, Dayville, formerly of Manchester, died on Monday (August 17, 2009) at Westview Health Care Center.


Born in Killingly, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Anne (Caffrey) Jasmin.


Mrs. Donlon was the wife of the late Patrick F. Donlon, whom she married on September 29, 1951 in St. Joseph Church in Dayville.


A 1945 graduate of Killingly High School, Marilyn later graduated from the Saint Francis Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. She was employed as a Registered Nurse for many years, specializing in geriatrics at Burnside Convalescent Home in East Hartford and later retired from Manchester Manor. A communicant of Saint Anne Church in Ballouville, Mrs. Donlon's life was centered around her family and time spent on Alexander's Lake where she made her home for so many years. She adored her grandchildren and was an avid reader.


She leaves two daughters and sons-in-law: Nancy and Joseph Brennan of Manchester and Terri Donlon and Robert Loomis of Osterville, MA; a son Michael Donlon of Dayville; and four grandchildren: Evan and Riley Donlon and Julia and Caroline Brennan. She was predeceased by a brother John J. Jasmin and two sisters: Mildred Eckler and Barbara Flagg.


A Private Cemetery Burial and Memorial Mass will be held for Marilyn.
