Elizabeth Donaldson was born 1838 in Santa Rosa, Florida to her parents; Jesse David Donaldson and Elizabeth Bessie Davis.
She married Marion Martin "Bud" Davis in 1856 and they settled in Okaloosa Area around Pensacola, Florida. They had a piece of land that they raised horses, pigs and cattle on along with the garden that Elizabeth took care of.
In 1862 they were blessed with the birth of their first child, William Thomas Davis and in 1864 they had their second son, Marion Martin Davis Jr. Marion Martin Davis joined the War of the States and was gone from the family for a time. He was in the Confederate Army. After the war and with time home he and Elizabeth were blessed with their only daughter Sarah Elizabeth Davis who was born in 1868 sadly, soon after her birth Elizabeth passed away, she was buried on the ranch close to the Davis Cemetery. With Sarah being a small baby and her Dad not being able to care for her, he gave his infant new born daughter Sarah to his sister Elizabeth for her to care and nurture his baby girl.
By the time that Sarah was about 4 she came back to live with her older brothers and her father at their home. They lived this way until "Bud" fell in love with Nancy Jane Donaldson. They married and Nancy being much younger than Bud she wanted a family and they had William, Coleman, Indiana, Arminda, Malissie, Melinda and Molinda. Sarah helped her new mother Nancy with caring for the babies until she married William Henry Brown much later in life.
