She was born in Fayetteville to Charles and LaVita Donaghey. She graduated from Bentonville High School in 1996 and sang in the BHS Acappella Choir and Cub Singers. She attended NWACC, where she was pursuing a degree in finance. She worked for Arvest Bank Operations in Lowell and for Outdoor Cap Company in Bentonville. She enjoyed reading, collecting picture frames, keeping scrap books, gardening and flowers. She loved children and volunteered at the Sunshine School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bentonville.
