Leonard A. "Len" Dominick [Mount Savage]

MOUNT SAVAGE - Leonard Anthony "Len" Dominick, 74, of Mount Savage, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 11, 2007 at the WMHS-Braddock Campus with his family by his side.

Born June 28, 1933 in Savannah, Ga., he was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Henry Dominick and Ella Margaret (Gill) Dominick; five sisters, Elizabeth Long, Marie Swindle, Catherine Duff Selesky, Henrietta Dominick and Agnes McCarthy; and one granddaughter, Emma Kathleen Ruff.

Leonard was a Korean War veteran who served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed at the Patuxent Naval Air Station with the Fleet Aircraft Service Squardron 103. He was awarded the National Defense Service Award.

Leonard was an avid bowler, participating in leagues for many years at White Oak Lanes. He enjoyed many sports including football and baseball. Mr. Dominick was a faithful and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Dominick was the assistant manager with Gee-Bee Department Stores in Cumberland and Altoona. He was employed as a salesman at L. Bernstein Furniture Store, LaVale and Kelly's Appliance and Furniture Store, Mountain Lake Park. Leonard also owned and operated new and used furniture stores.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Mary Edith "Terry" (Maley) Dominick; thee daughters, Theresa (Dominick) Ludwick and husband Roger, Cumberland, Elaine (Dominick) Weaverling and husband Larry, Daytona Beach, Fla. and Lori (Dominick) Ruff and husband John F. Ruff IV, Short Gap, W.Va.; grandchildren, Tammy (Weaverling) Belus, Becky (Weaverling) Vargo, Christopher Lee Weaverling, Ethan Pierce and Micah James Ludwick, Sara Elizabeth and Kylah Rose Ruff; and one great-granddaughter, Alexi Ranee Belus. He is also survived by one sister, Margaret (Dominick) Delano, Hurlock; two brothers, Edward Dominick and wife "Jimmy," Savannah and John "Hukie" Dominick and his wife Beverly, Seattle, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Father Ty Hullinger will hold an evening prayer service at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bob Ryan officiating.

Interment will be in Maryland State Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap, Flintstone. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Old Rail Post Honor Guard.
