Mrs. Bearden was born July 3, 1943 in Amity, AR to William Monroe Dollar and the late Clara Dollar and past from this life February 5, 2014 in a Houston hospital after attaining the age of 70 years, 7 months, and 2 days.
Pattie attended Shreveport Business College and worked at an army ammunitions plant to send Hershel to college. Cotton Valley was their special home. Her life was dedicated to creating a wonderful home for her children and husband. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the delight of her life. Pattie was a fun-loving person who enjoyed teasing and playing practical jokes on unsuspecting family members. She had an infectious laugh that brought cheer to those around her. Pattie showed a true heart of giving. If she saw anyone with a need, or simply a "want" from her kids or grandkids, she quietly, (usually anonymously), filled those needs and wants. She was a faithful support for Hershel in his gospel ministry and especially in his missionary work in India. She loved playing cards, and was usually on the winning team. She was dedicated to her Lord, her family, and her church family. She will be sorely missed!
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Hershel Bearden of Lufkin; children, Bruce Bearden and wife Vonda of Bastrop and Bryan Bearden and wife Melissa of Corsicana, Ramona Roberts and husband Scott and Rebecca Basham and husband Wesley, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Adrianne Praditbatuga, Caleb and Austin Bearden, Savanna, Callie, Carter, Tanner and Macie Bearden and Lauren, Carson and Ethan Basham; eighty children in the Courtney Swann/Matthew McCartney Children's Home, Chipurupalli, India who call her grandmother; namesake grandchild, N. Hershel; great-grandchildren, Samuel and Ariana Praditbatuga; father, William Monroe Dollar of Shreveport, LA; siblings and spouses, Jenice and Ken Dillon, Larry and Laurie Dollar, Randy and Denell Dollar, all of Shreveport, LA and Kathy and Robert Banford of Antelope, CA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Arvil Bearden of Homer, LA, Geneva Jones of Minden, LA, W.C. and Mary Jane Bearden of Chandler, J.C. and Betty Sue Bearden of Kilgore and Carolyn Bearden of Homer, LA.
