Obituary, Roanoke (VA) Times, 28 Sep 2008:

Margot (Peg) Dole Bauman, 73, of Blacksburg, Va., died Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at Montgomery Regional Hospital from a series of complications following surgery. Peg was born June 26, 1935, in Detroit, Mich., and was raised in Scarsdale, N.Y. Following graduation from Colby Junior College and marriage, Peg and her growing family lived for 35 years in several towns on Long Island, N.Y., where she was active in the Presbyterian Church (USA) as a Deacon and Women's Circle member. On retirement in 1995, Peg and her husband moved to Blacksburg, where she continued her Presbyterian Church activities, including board membership in the Presbyterian Campus Ministry until transferring to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation four years ago. She was a beloved source of love, joy and sustenance to her family and many friends. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dick; her children, Lisa Wolf, David, Ken and Erik; grandchildren, Kip Wolf, Katrina and Christopher Baumann; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Madison Wolf; sister, Pat Dole; nieces, Deirdre Wray and Jane Sparling; nephews, Fred, David and James Bauman, and Peter Pearl; and their families. A celebratory memorial service will be held 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2008, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 1301 Gladewood Dr., Blacksburg, the Rev. Christine Brownlie leading, with a reception at the church following. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate donations to the Children's Playground of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation. Donations would be payable to "UUC/NRV" and sent to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, P.O. Box 10116, Blacksburg, Va. 24062-0116 with the notation "Children's Playground" on the memo line. The family wishes to express its deep gratitude to friends who have provided wonderful comfort and support.
