She was born Sept. 1, 1929, in Washington, D.C., and came to Osprey nine years ago from Los Angeles. She retired in 1959 from the U.S. Foreign Service.
She graduated from the University of South Carolina and George Washington University and was a member of Pi Beta Phi. She was a Methodist.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Wade L. Sr.; sons Wade L. Jr. of Honolulu and John D. of Sarasota; and three grandchildren.
No visitation is scheduled. Services will be at 10:30am today in the chapel of the Venice/Nokomis United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Tampa. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Gulf Gate Chapel, is in charge.
