Joseph E. Doheny, Sr., age 78, of Newtown passed away Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Neshaminy Manor Nursing Home.
Born in Jenkintown, Pa., he had resided in Newtown for 56 years. Joseph served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Morrell Smith Post #440. He was employed as a bricklayer for over 50 years and was also employed as a custodian and maintenance worker for Council Rock School District until his retirement. Joe was also an avid hunter.
He was preceded in death by his son Joseph E. Doheny, Jr., left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife Betty of 56 years; his children Dorothy Heritage of W. Va., Ruth Ann Pisch and her husband Ernst of Abington, Pa., Richard M. Doheny, Sr. and his wife Pam of Levittown; and daughter-in-law Dawn Doheny of Smethport, Pa.; and four brothers Robert, Thomas, Francis and James; he is also survived by seven grandchildren Tina and Patty Doheny, Ernie and Bert Pisch and Rick, Megan and Amy Doheny.
Services and interment will be private.
