MRS. W. BOICOURT DIES TUESDAY P.M.
Two Daughters Survive -- Funeral Friday Afternoon in Star Baptist Church
Mrs. William T. (Lydia Doggett) Boicourt, 83, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Don Shelhorn home near Downeyville where she had gone to spend the day. She had been in declining health the past four months but her going was a sudden shock to her family and friends.
Mrs. Boicourt was born Oct. 25, 1857 in Decatur county, the daughter of Henry Leslie and Emily Boyer Doggett. On October 10, 1883, she was married to William Boicourt who preceded her April 18, 1932. To this union four children were born. She was preceded by two children, Forrest Leroy who died at the age of three and Mrs. Clifford (Ethel Emily) King who passed away March 28, 1912, and an adopted son, William Burns Boicourt who passed away Sept. 27, 1917. She was the last of a family of eight children.
For the past nine years she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Pleas Redington, 9 miles northwest of Greensburg.
Surviving are two children, Mrs. Vessie Vaugh Reed, of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Pleas (Ora Hazel) Redington, of northwest of Greensburg; five grandchildren, Mrs. Cecil (Juanita) Parsons, of Indianapolis, Mrs. Edward (Wilma) Zinser, of Springfield, O., Lavelle, Nolan and Leota Redington, of northwest of Greensburg.
Mrs. Boicourt was a member of the Star Baptist church.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Star church with burial in Star cemetery. A prayer service will be held in the Rodington home at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
