Alice Adele Dodson, 59 died Sunday, October 5, in El Paso, Texas.
Born in Florence, Colorado, Adele was a resident there before relocating to Taft in 1953. She was a graduate of Taft Union High School (1956) and Taft College (1958). She received her Bachelor of Arts degree and California teaching credential from The University of the Pacific, and her librarian credential from Fresno State University.
Her professional career spanned over 30 years as an educator and librarian, the last seven in El Paso. She began her teaching career in Rosamond with additional stops in Visalia, Placerville, and Taft before moving internationally to Guatemala, Kuwait and Ecuador. At the time of her death, she was school librarian for Stanton Elementary School in El Paso. Adele considered Taft her permanent residence and always returned here for her summer vacations. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Taft, and several professional organizations including P.E.O., The Order of Eastern Star, N.E.A., Texas State Teachers Association and the National Association of School LIbrarians.
She is survived by her mother, Imogene Hadley Dodson; brothers' Joseph M. and Charles H. Dodson, two nephews, Jon C. and Mark R. Dodson; and nieces, Jennifer L. and Stephanie Dodson.

Memorial services will be held at Taft Methodist Church on Sturday, October 18th at 2:00p.m. Graveside services and internment were held on Saturday, October 11th in Florence, Colorado.
