Abner Dodson served as a private with the US ARMY during World War I, first reporting for training at Camp Jackson on 25 July 1918. He was assigned to the 4th and 21st Battery Regt from July 1918 through 28 May 1919.
Abner was married to Ruby Williford Dodson on 1 July 1920, after obtaining a marriage license on 29 June.
Mr. Dodson was a retired merchant, owning Dodson's grocery store for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Williford Dodson; a son, Abner M. Dodson, Jr. of Anderson; a sister, Mrs. Lida Culbertson of Gaffney; and a brother, Furman Dodson of Due West.
