Kenzella Maxine Colyer, age 57, Route 1, Monticello, passed away suddenly Thursday, July 18, at her residence.
She was born in the Quinton community on December 12, 1933, daughter of the late Robert Elmer and Delia Jane Johnson Dodson. She was the former manager of Somerset Lodge Restaurant and she and her husband were presently owners of Colyer Nationwide of Monticello and was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Colyer, whom she married on April 21, 1950, in Somerset; a son, Brent Eric Colyer, Monticello; a daughter, Deborah Tyann Bender, Lexington; two brothers, Chester Dodson, Science Hill, and Joe Dodson, Altoona, Pa.; four sisters, Glenna Hardwick, Bronston, Deloris Turner of Monticello, Marian Vontella Voulker of Louisville and one grandson, Robert Steven Eric Bender of Lexington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Douglas Colyer; a daughter, Kenzella Darlene Colyer; two brothers, Russell William and Jimmy Lester Dodson; and two sisters, Fayrene Colyer and Martha Christine Bryant.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 21, at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with the Reverend Jim Simpson officiating.
Burial was in the Grave Hill Cemetery.
