Lois Roberta Fisk, 95, of McGregor, passed away early Friday morning, April 18, 2008. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 21, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor. Interment will follow at McGregor Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Cole Funeral Home.
Lois was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Robert Franklin and Laura Blanche (Dunn) Dodson, and she graduated from Oglesby High School. On Jan. 29, 1929, she married Ross Jordan Fisk. During World War II, she was employed by Blue Bonnet Ordinance Plant in McGregor; however, much of her life was spent as a seamstress at Texas Coffin Company in Waco for many years. She was a member of Sixth and Adams Church of Christ and the Adult Sunday School Class. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the quilting club, McGregor Garden Club and enjoyed reading.
Preceding her in death after 47 years of marriage, was her husband, Ross, on Nov. 7, 1976; sons, Ross Wendell Fisk and Carrol Glenn Fisk; daughter, Beatrice Kuhlman; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Survivors include sons, Robert Fisk and Frank Fisk; brothers, Robert Dodson, Armand Dodson and Pheral Dodson; sisters, Maurine Blanton and Leola Simpson; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
