She was born in Adkins, Arkansas, the daughter of Huston and Louann Jackson Dixon. She married Roy V. Bynum in January of 1926 in Oklahoma City. She lived the majority of her life in Indianola. She was a member of Eastern Star and had served as Past Worthy Matron. She and Roy were the parents of Gwen Hurst, and Roy Bynum, Jr. She had eight brothers and three sisters.
