Merle Louise Edoff, 96, of Washington passed away Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at Washington Christian Village in Washington.

Merle was born Oct. 13, 1912, in Galesburg, IL, a daughter of Ralph Clay Dixon and Mabel Charlotte Cool Dixon. She married Robert E. Edoff on May 30, 1937, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death Sept. 8, 1989, in Peoria.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Merle is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Betty L. Yates of Galesburg, Mrs. Dorothy L. Clatt of East Peoria and Mrs. Rose Marie (Bud) Kremer of Lisle; and two sisters-in-law, Clara Dixon of Peoria and Gwen Dixon of Red Lion, Pa.

Merle was a member of OTHO Temple 36; Daughters of the Nile, where she was a past queen in 1964; a 50-year member of Creve Coeur Chapter O.E.S. 946; and Caterpillar Retirees Club.

Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
