Margaret Lee Calvert, 96, Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away, Friday, January 11, 2013, at the North Care Hospice House.

Mrs. Calvert was born May 19, 1916, in Shelby County, daughter of Charles Lee and Olive (Smith) Dinwiddie. Margaret married James Calvert on October 4, 1958. James preceded her in death in July of 1995. Margaret was a homemaker for many years but also worked for the Quincy Illinois Hospital in the O.B. Department from 1955-1958 and worked as a factory worker in Shelby County. Mrs. Calvert enjoyed canning produce from her garden, cooking and was a great hostess. Most of all Margaret loved her family and enjoyed following her grand children's activities. She was a member of the Pisgah Baptist Church in Excelsior Springs.

In addition to her husband James, Margaret was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Glenn Dinwiddie; sister, Pauline Erwin and stepson, Berdell Calvert.

Survivors include: daughter Deborah Kerr and husband Thomas of Excelsior Springs; step-son Leland Calvert and wife Florence of Gladstone; sister Dorothy Knipmeyer of Excelsior Springs; two grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 11am-12pm, with funeral services starting at 12pm, Monday January 14, 2013, at the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Pisgah Baptist Church.
