Dorothy D. Beardslee died peacefully at Indian River Estates Willowbrooke Center on April 9, 2007 at the age of 98.

She lived a full, happy and loving life and was dedicated to and derived great joy from her family.

She was born on January 13, 1909 in Medford, MA, the daughter of Katherine and Philip Dinsmore.
She graduated from Springfield High School in Springfield, MA and attended business school in Boston. After graduating Dorothy was the secretary to the actuary at the Columbian National Insurance Company in Boston. This was where she met her beloved husband, William. They were married for 64 years until his death in 2001. Dorothy was also predeceased by her brother, Philip.

Dorothy was an active member of the community.

She was church deaconess at Union Congregational Church, Upper Montclair, NJ and a hospital volunteer at Montclair Community Hospital, Montclair, NJ for many years. She belonged to the P.E.O. Sisterhood for 50 years and served as a chapter president.

Since moving to Vero Beach in 1985 from Falmouth, MA she has been a member of The Community Church.

Dorothy's joy in life was her family. Her husband, Bill, her children Nancy B. DeLeon, Susan B. Bell and husband, Samuel and William R. Beardslee, Jr. and wife, Linda. She adored her grandchildren, Jeffrey Hughes and wife, Tania, Lisa Schroeder and husband, Andrew, Denley Weibel and husband, Mark, Christopher Hughes, Kristin Polliack and husband, Adrian, William Beardslee, III and wife, Stacy and Sallie Bell. Her love and pride carried to the next generation, her eleven great-grandchildren.

Donations in Dorothy's memory can be made to the Indian River Estates Samaritan Fund, 2250 Indian Creek Blvd, Vero Beach, FL 32966.

The service will be private.

Arangements are by Indian River Cremation Society.
