Christine Virginia Arrington Dillon, 87, of Wirtz, Va., passed away on Friday, March 19, 2010. She was born February 16, 1923, a daughter of the late Annie L. and Joe Pete Arrington. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William Perry Dillon; son, Garland Dillon; brother, Mack Arrington; sisters, Lottie Law, Dee Wray, Judy Hodges, Ella Hambrick, and Gertrude Hudson; daughters-in-law, Frances Dillon and Shelby Dillon; and son-in-law, Jimmy Hodges. She is survived by her daughters, Roxanne and Richard Harvey, Mary and Eddie McCall, Darlene and Coy Wright, Gladys and Earl Flora, Starr Wade and special friend, Bobby, Edith Sue Dillon and special friend, Johnny, Dean Dudley and special friend, Doug, and Phyllis Hodges; sons, Jearl Dillon and Emily Sue, Wayne Dillon, and Dewey Radford and Tracie; 77 wonderful grandchildren including 29 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and nine great-greatgrandchildren; special granddaughter, Tabitha; and special grandsons, Perry (Jody) and Jacob; sister, Betty and Larry Hollandsworth; daughterin-law, Ruby Dillon; several nieces and nephews. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be sent to BB&T Bank, 377 Spring Lane, Hardy, Va. 24101 for the Christine Dillon Expense Trust Fund. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010, with the Rev. Bud Nichols, the Rev. Denver Turner, the Rev. Elvis Wright, and Mr. Jody Hodges officiating. Interment will follow in the DillonMcGuire-Willard Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2010, at Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 140 Floyd Ave, Rocky Mount, Va. Published in Roanoke Times on March 21, 2010
