Flora E. Axmear, 88, of Keswick, died Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 8, 1970 at the Keokuk County hospital, Sigourney, following an illness of two and one-half years. Born Sept. 28, 1881, in the White Pigeon community, she was the daughter of William H. and Calvados Yauger Dillon.
She attended rural schools and Drake University, Des Moines.
She was married June 18, 1924, to William C. Axmear and lived all her married life in Keswick. She was a member of the North English Christian Church and the Federated Woman's Club at Keswick, where she taught piano a nurnber of years.
Surviving are two step-sons, W. Lloyd Axmear of South English and Edgar J. Axmear, Keswick; one step-daughter, Mrs. John F . (Jessie) Barr, Wayne Neb.; four grandchildren; two brothers, Edgar Dillon of Cedar
Rapids and John Dillon, of Des Moines; and one sister, Miss Blanche Dillon, Keswick.
In addition to her husband, who died in 1961, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 Thursday, Sept. 10 at the Keswick United Methodist church conducted by the Rev. Roy K. Hoover and the Rev. Patrick Logan.
Mrs. Roy K. Hoover presided at the organ, and hymns were sung by a duet, Mrs. Raymond Axmear and Don Ridenour.
Burial was made in Sorden cemetery.
Casket bearers were: William T. Axmear, Fred Axmear, Kenneth Higgins, Wilmer Dillon, Everett Dillon, Harold Dillon.
