Mrs. Elizabeth Dawson, who resided near the Eggleston school house, this township, died on last Friday night of general debility, aged 72 years. She had been in failing health for some time, but was able to go about until a week before her demise. She was the widow of a Union soldier and had been a pensioner on the bounty of the government for many years. She was highly respected by everyone. Her funeral occurred on Sunday last from Henderson Chapel. Rev. Noah Dixon preached the discourse, after which her remains were interred in the Thomas Cemetery.
