Margaret married John J. Brophy on September 13, 1969 in St. Columba R.C. Church in Manhattan. She was a member of the Monroe County Club Women's Golf League and a supporter of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Joseph F. Duelk, Jr. Divison 1 in Monroe, NY.
She is survived by her husband, John J. Brophy of Cornwall, NY and their children, John Brophy, Jr. of Milford, PA and Michael Brophy and his wife Lee Ann, also of Milford, PA, and grandchildren, Katie and Devin Brophy. She is also survived by six brothers: Robert Dietz, William Dietz and his wife, Susan, Donald Dietz, Martin Dietz, Richard Dietz and his wife, Lorraine, and Christopher Dietz and her only sister, Patricia Dietz, along with several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be offered January 22 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Roman Catholic Church, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. Burial will follow at Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen,NY.
