Lynne P. Ambrosino

Age 71, of Newark, DE, passed away on August 15, 2010.

Lynne was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 17, 1939, daughter of the late Doris (Zeller) Dietrich and Bill "Bullfrog" Dietrich, who famously pitched a no-hitter for the Chicago White Sox in 1937. Lynne was a wonderful wife of 52 years and a very devoted mother to her children. She endlessly loved her family and centered her life around her children and grandchildren. Lynne graduated from Frankford High School in Philadelphia. Upon graduation, she was hired by Penn Mutual in Philadelphia as personal secretary to the senior vice president. She gave that up to devote her next 15 years to her family. She entered the work force again in 1975 when she became a clerk in the Justice of the Peace Courts. She performed admirably for the next 20 years, upon which she retired. Lynne couldn't stay retired long when she was hired by Delaware Park Race Track and Slots as a program seller. She stayed there for 15 years until she became ill. She loved her trips to Las Vegas and vacations in Hilton Head Island and St. Martin. Lynne Ambrosino was one of the kindest and most exceptional human beings anyone could want to meet. Family and friends will miss her radiant smile and presence. Lynne, go in peace.

Lynne is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Joseph P. Ambrosino; children, Joseph III, Cynthia and her fiancÚ Charles Ghione; Lisa Garcia and her husband Andrew, and Jane Easley and her husband James; grandchildren, Brittany, Michalyn, Adrianna, Andrew, Julianna, Alexis, and Brandon; great-grandson, Gabriel; brother, William Dietrich and his wife Marianne; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and DuPont Sts. in Wilmington, on Wednesday morning, August 18, at 11 am. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday morning, prior to mass, from 10-11 am.
