Newberry — Mrs. Clara Dickert Bedenbaugh, 92, widow of Jesse C. Bedenbaugh Sr., died Feb. 13, 2004. Born in Newberry County, Mrs. Bedenbaugh was a daughter of the late John Henry and Lela Garrett Dickert. She had retired from the Newberry County School System and was a lifelong member of Silverstreet Lutheran Church, where she was a member of Elsie P. Nichols Sunday School Class. Mrs. Bedenbaugh is survived by a son, 4 daughters, 2 sisters, 14 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons, John Grady Bedenbaugh, Paul Garrett Bedenbaugh, and Jerry Bernard Bedenbaugh; and a granddaughter, Kristi Alain Bedenbaugh. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Silverstreet Lutheran Church, with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. The family is at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lominack and will receive friends from 4-6 Sunday afternoon at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. The family suggests that those desiring may make memorials to Silverstreet Lutheran Church Organ Fund, 120 Long St., Silverstreet, SC or to Palmetto Health Hospice, 2024 Bear Village Ct., Newberry, SC 29108.
