MOTHER AND NEWBORN SON DIE HERE TODAY.
Mrs. Veneda Acton, Baby, of near Millard Die in Hospital.
Veneda Esther Acton, 24, and new born son, William Davis Acton of near Millard, died this morning at a local hospital.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending the arrival of relatives.
Mrs. Acton was the daughter of W. E. and Veola S. (Davis) Dickerson, and was born in Pleasantville, Iowa July 10, 1921. She was married to Buell Acton at Union, Iowa on July 2, 1939 and they moved from Iowa to a farm east of Millard four years ago.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Barbara Veola and Beverly Lucille and one son Wilford Buel Acton, of the home; her parents Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Dickerson of Kirksville; five brothers, John Abel of Pueble, Calif., Warrant Officer Waldo Edward, USN; First Lieut. Wilford Arthur, US Army, who arrives today; Radio-man c 3 Glen Orville US Navy in the South Pacific and Roderick Eugene a student in the Kirksville High School.
Mrs. Acton was a member of the Christian Church at Union, Iowa.
The bodies will be in state at DFee Riley Funeral Home.
